BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THOENG
Thoeng in Chaingrai Province is about 69k from Chaingrai on the 1020 towards Chaing Kulm and through to Nan.
In the centre of the Town at the Traffic Lights you can turn Left if coming fro Chaingrai and go to Chaing Khong 81 k away where you can cross the narrow Mekong River into Laos.
Continue on from Thoeng towards Chaing Kulm for about 5k you can fork left to Puchia Fia (Photo Bottom Left) or keep going on for another 24k to Chaing Kulm where you can find Lotus Tesco.
If you want to break your journey in to Chaing Kulm you can turn left about 6k from Chaing Kulm and travel about 6k to Pusang Waterfall. (Picture Top Right )
Just before you reach Chaing Kulm you can turn right towards Phayou where you join the main route from Chaingrai to Bangkok and the South of Thialand
"Thoeng" itself is a quiet medium sized town which has a very strong "Rotary" link with the U.S.A. which does many good deeds.
There current Project is importing 100 Wheelchairs which will be Distributed to suitable applicants who are willingto pay the 400 Baht being levied by the Thia Government.
